About

I am a mixed media artist living and working in Abergavenny.
Making art gives me access to a unique visual language – enabling me to capture and preserve the essence of a moment, a memory or a sense of place
I find inspiration in the deeply contrasting yet captivating landscapes of the Black Mountains around my home in Wales, and the expansive reedbeds of Norfolk – a place I love very much
Through my work I aim to convey the feelings and memories evoked by these special places

I use a variety of media in my work – often combining different materials to achieve an interesting and unexpected outcome. I paint intuitively – I rarely plan my work, preferring instead to respond in the moment to marks I have made – the outcome is unpredictable and depends on serendipity

I have a foundation diploma in Art and Design from Hereford College of Art
I am a member of the Black Mountain Circle – a cooperative of artists and makers – our collective works are showcased and sold through the Frogmore Street Gallery in Abergavenny
I always have original work available at Frogmore Street Gallery along with a selection of limited edition giclee prints and greetings cards

“The process of creating is more important than the outcome”
